There are 6 Area Agencies on Aging (AAA’s) in Iowa serving all 99 Iowa counties. Each of the AAA’s works with the Iowa Department on Aging, to provide information, programs and services to help older adults, caregivers, and those with disabilities remain independent as long as possible. Some of the programs include: Advocacy, Case Management, Family Caregiver Program supports, Information & Assistance, LifeLong Links, Senior Nutrition programs and the Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) to protect, detect, and report Medicare fraud. Other available services include Transportation Assistance, Adult Day and Respite support, Long Term Care options, information on how to report Elder Abuse and In-Home Care services.
